Wildlife You'll See on Our Tours

Alligators

Alligators are the star of every tour — and we guarantee sightings. From tiny 6-inch hatchlings with yellow striping to massive adults exceeding 10 feet, you'll see these incredible reptiles basking, swimming, and guarding their nests in their natural habitat.

Exotic Birds

Spot great blue herons fishing in the shallows, osprey diving for their prey, stunning roseate spoonbills with brilliant pink plumage, and purple gallinules walking across lily pads. The peregrine falcon — the world's fastest bird at over 200 mph — also calls these wetlands home.

Turtles

At least five species of turtles inhabit the Blue Cypress waterways, including box turtles, softshell turtles, red-eared sliders, and the impressive alligator snapping turtle — the largest freshwater turtle in North America.

Fish & Aquatic Life

Beneath the surface, alligator gar, largemouth bass, armored catfish, mudfish, and tilapia thrive in these nutrient-rich waters. During spawning season, watch tilapia create bowl-shaped nests along the shore.
